First lady dazzles at New York political fundraiser with $42,150 diamond bracelet and cuffs

First Lady Michelle Obama wowed attendees at a a Democratic National Committee fundraiser in New York this week with a diamond bracelet and cuffs worth $42,150; and as she has done consistently with the clothes she wears, she promoted the talent of an American designer.

This time the jewelry was created by a Texas jeweler, Katie Decker. Included, was a Lotus cuff with 2.9 carats of diamonds costing $15,000, a Gothic cuff with 2.17 carats of diamonds costing $15,350 and a $11,800 Quatrefoil bracelet with 1.73 carats of diamonds.

Ms. Decker clearly hopes that the exposure she received will provide a boost to her career and company. This certainly was the experience of clothes designer Barbara Tfank,  whose pink opera jacket and blue dress combination Ms. Obama wore earlier this year when meeting the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and clothes designer Jason Wu,  whose  one-shouldered white ball gown dress was worn by the First Lady at an inauguration ball in January 2009.
